On December 23, 2024, Colorado submitted a request to extend its section 1115 demonstration entitled, "Expanding the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Continuum of Care," and to rename the demonstration "Comprehensive Care for Colorado." The state requests to 1) continue providing SUD treatment services to short-term residents in residential and inpatient treatment settings that qualify as an Institution for Mental Diseases (IMD); 2) continue authority for continuous eligibility for children ages 0 to 3 and individuals leaving incarceration; 3) continue authority for pending amendment requests, such as reentry services for adults and youth transitioning from correctional facilities, reimbursement for acute inpatient and residential stays in IMDs for individuals with a serious mental illness or serious emotional disturbance, and health-related social needs services (HRSN); and 4) incorporate presumptive eligibility for Long-term Services and Supports (LTSS). The federal public comment period will be open from January 6, 2025 through February 5, 2025.
