You Can Still Make It! It's Not Too Late!
It happened again, just like it does every year.
The 2025 Daily Stoic New Year New You Challenge started yesterday and, perhaps unsurprisingly, our customer service email—managed by a lovely woman named Ashley—has been overwhelmed with notes from people all saying something like, "I know I'm late but I'd love to do this. Can you still let me in?" or "Sorry, did I miss my chance?"
This is what we do isn't it? We think about doing something…but we put off actually doing it. We put it off to the last minute.
Why? Probably to give ourselves an excuse to not have to follow through? Because at some level perhaps we want to hear that we can't, the window has passed. Because we're afraid, so we bog ourselves down in the details instead of making the commitment and then figuring it out. In fact, that was something fools had in common, Seneca said, they are always getting ready to start.
So it's a little ironic that this week—that is to say late—has the highest number of sign-ups for the NYNY challenge.
Anyway, although it's a little bit of extra work on the Daily Stoic end—Ashley can handle it, don't worry—we still want to make it possible for you to join us in kicking off the year with 21 days of Stoic-inspired challenges, so you can prepare for the adversity and challenges that 2025 will almost certainly bring. The Stoics knew that, regardless of our age, sex, and where we come from, we all stumble, we all get jarred off course, we all put things off.
We've all been there. We've also all benefited from the grace of a little extra time or an understanding friend who gives us a nudge.
As Marcus Aurelius reminds himself in Meditations, the key is how quickly you can repair, pick up the pieces. "When jarred, unavoidably, by circumstance," he writes, "revert at once to yourself, and don't lose the rhythm more than you can help. You'll have a better grasp of the harmony if you keep on going back to it."
You will still receive all of the content and be able to participate in the live Q&As and all the other great stuff we're doing. But time is running out. You're behind, but there's time to catch up.
You still have time to make it.. You can still make 2025 the turning point of your life.
Don't wait any longer.
No more, "I'll start tomorrow." No more, "in the future, I'll do better and expect better." No more "next year I'll…"
No.
Make 2025 the year you stop putting off your self-improvement. Make 2025 your best year yet.
