Why stop now, when the House panel has yet to hear from the two military officials who allegedly received the confidential funds disbursed in cash by the OVP, asked Rep. France Castro. The two officials had earlier been summoned, but where are they? Mind-boggling public funds are being deployed as confidential and intelligence expenses—over P10B in 2023, a record high, with the Office of the Vice President nabbing higher amounts than the government's security agencies.
Mt. Kanlaon, which straddles Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental, erupted again on Monday, causing heavy ashfall, emitting strong sulfuric fumes, and forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents near the volcano.
With schools as the "nation's first line of defense against mental health issues," a measure that integrates mental health education in schools nationwide and adopts government programs for the emotional welfare of students and teachers is now a law.
China currently has nearly 90 navy and coast guard ships in waters near Taiwan, the southern Japanese islands, and the East and South China Seas—majority of them navy vessels. An alarmed Taiwan has raised its alert level at the specter.
