Indonesia wants to swap Alice Guo with Australian prisoner in PH

The complication: The Australian is wanted by Jakarta for drug smuggling, a capital offense in that country. The Philippines, however, has abolished the death penalty. To bring back Alice Guo, should Manila hand over the Australian who could later be executed?

UAAP sets new eligibility rule


The UAAP announced a new eligibility rule that came amid a rash of high-profile transfers of student-athletes from one member school to another. The rule, which revolves around the Student-Athletes Protection Act that makes residency requirements less punitive, states that players will still need to sit out just one year as residency, but the league will strip transferees of two years of eligibility.
