DIVINE INSPIRATION

Hey all,

Mark here. Here's what we have in store for this week...

WHAT I'M WRITING ABOUT

Stay Mission-Focused

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. T.S. Eliot

Staying mission-focused can be a challenge when judgment and criticism start piling up. I learned to ignore the critics as a Navy SEAL. That has served me well as an author and entrepreneur since then, though I softened my stance from “ignore them” to “learn from them.” Criticism will always come from those who don’t understand or appreciate your mission. If you pay too much attention to them (and that includes your own inner voice), then you may start to doubt that you are on the right path. So, I recommend that you learn from your most vocal critics, but unless they are the undisputed experts in your exact lane, don’t take them too seriously.

What matters is that your mission is deeply aligned with your core purpose and passions and that you burn your boats to ensure you stay committed. Fueling your commitment requires that you ground yourself in your mission by reminding yourself what it is and why you are doing it every day. You should also connect your major tasks and actions throughout the day to that mission. Remember, it's not just about the tasks, it's about the relentless progress you make every day. This determination and persistence will bring you closer and closer to mission success.

WHAT'S INSPIRING ME

There is a raw and transformative power of gratitude that continues to inspire me. By fully embracing the grind and keeping my eyes on the prize, I tackle challenges with a optomistic and unshakeable mindset. This approach sharpens my ability to lead with clear vision and real empathy. Gratitude doesn’t just drive my own growth—it sends out shockwaves that are felt and seen by everyone around me.

PRACTICE OR HABIT TO TRY

Gratitude Walk: To start, choose a time and place that suit you and pick a comfortable location. Set a positive intention to focus on gratitude during your walk. As you move, stay present with your surroundings, your sensations, and the air around you, letting gratitude fill your thoughts. Conclude with a moment of reflection, noting how this practice enhances your well-being, reduces stress, and cultivates a deeper appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, aligning with the essence of living an Uncommon life.
