Workforce Diversity and Health Disparities Research Opportunities

U.S. Department of Health & Human Services  /  National Institutes of Health An application due date is coming up on January 27, 2025, for the Biomedical Research Environment & Sponsored Programs Administration Development (BRE-SPAD) Program (UC2- Clinical Trial Not Allowed) (PAR-24-268). This program will support biomedical research capacity building at resource-limited institutions, with the goal of broadening the pool of faculty conducting biomedical research and the organizational settings where research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is performed.   February 5, 2025, is the next application due date for Research Opportunities for New and "At-Risk" Investigators to Promote Workforce Diversity (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) (PAS-25-190). The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health is participating in this funding opportunity. If you're preparing an application, make sure you're following the instructions in the recently reissued notice of funding opportunity (NOFO), PAS-25-190. The previous NOFO, PAR-22-181, expired early.   The NIH Helping to End Addiction Long-term® Initiative, or NIH HEAL Initiative®, will hold a virtual workshop, "Developing HEAL Pain Strategic Research Priorities: Health Equity and Pain Across the Life Course," on Friday, December 6 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. ET. Registration is open now.  The NIH Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity (COSWD) will hold a seminar, "How Can Research-Active Institutions Enhance Their Research Capacity?" on February 11, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. ET.
