Dear colleagues, We'd like to announce that Manny Oliver, Director of the Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Office, is retiring on December 31, 2024. Manny has served as the SBIR/STTR Office Director for 14 years, managing and coordinating with the many Department of Energy (DOE) program offices that participate in the SBIR & STTR programs. During his tenure, the operations of the program have become more efficient and effective. In addition, the program outcomes have successfully addressed both the statutory purpose of the SBIR & STTR program and the mission of the DOE. We congratulate him on his retirement and wish him well in his next chapter. While we recruit for Manny's replacement, Eileen Chant will serve as acting Director for the SBIR/STTR Office. In her current role, Eileen manages the DOE Phase 0 Outreach and Assistance program and coordinates outreach efforts at state, regional, and national conferences. We'd also like to share that the announcement for the position of Director of the SBIR/STTR Office is now open and accepting applications from Tuesday, December 10 to Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The Director will be responsible for a team of federal and contractor staff, building and promoting a work-culture that is collaborative and maximizes the talent of the Office team members.
