New HHS Issue Brief Examines the Impact of Six Decades of Medicaid Coverage

A new issue brief entitled Medicaid: The Health and Economic Benefits of Expanding Eligibility examines the impact of six decades of Medicaid coverage for low-income children and adults. The brief, published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), reviews studies that show access to Medicaid coverage is associated with a significant improvement in health and mortality. The studies also highlight that Medicaid improves educational and economic outcomes.
