Hi there. Garma ordered PCSO exec's slay, says police officer

Narcotics police officer Santie Mendoza told lawmakers on Friday that ex-PCSO chief Royina Garma and Napolcom head Edilberto Leonardo had ordered him to arrange a "special operation" — the assassination of then-PCSO executive Wesley Barayuga in July 2020.

More Garma dirt: The former Duterte police officer may face other charges after admitting that she appointed at least seven family members, including her own daughter with special needs, to the PCSO when she was its GM from 2019 to 2022.

What constitutes "constructive illegal dismissal"? According to the Supreme Court in a recent ruling, it's when demotion, verbal abuse, or any act by an employer creates "unbearable working conditions" and eventually forces the employee to resign.

China, which now has the world's largest navy, may have suffered a major loss: Its newest nuclear-powered attack submarine sank earlier this year, a senior US defense official said — a potential embarrassment for a country bent on expanding its military capabilities.

Hurricane "Helene" — described as "extremely dangerous" -- slammed into Florida, USA, on Thursday, with officials warning of "unsurvivable" conditions and a potentially catastrophic storm surge high enough to swamp a two-story house.
