Hi there. Diokno urges House to focus on Bato "drug war" memo

According to human rights lawyer Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno, a 2016 PNP circular that used the words "eliminate," "neutralization" and "negation" against drug suspects was commonly understood by most cops as an order to "do it by all means, including killing."

Televangelist Apollo Quiboloy made his first court appearance on Friday, wearing a helmet, a face mask, dark eyeglasses, a bulletproof vest, and with his handcuffs concealed by a bandana. He later pleaded not guilty to charges of qualified human trafficking.

Vice President Sara Duterte has found an ally in the Senate  over her office's budget woes, with Sen. Joel Villanueva saying he "cannot stomach (the move) to slash the OVP's budget by more than half," which was what the House budget panel did.

A concerned mother — or a ruthless cop? Former police officer Royina Garma tearfully fretted over a daughter with special needs when the House ordered her detained for evasive answers about her alleged role in the Duterte drug war.

The US has slapped fresh sanctions on 16 officials aligned with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro  a move in support of the opposition's claims that candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia was the rightful winner of the country's July 28 election.
