Turns out, it's the overnight session. Here's how the stats compared for the SPY since Jan. 1, 2000 - and make sure you focus on the Total Profit line:  Buying the close and selling the open (overnight session) is nearly twice as profitable as the day session, with a slightly higher win rate. Think about that for a moment… …your odds of winning by holding overnight go up slightly… …but the amount you win is more than DOUBLE what you get during the day session!
