Nvidia’s Earnings Report Could Be Make or Break for This Market

Nvidia’s Earnings Report Could Be Make or Break for This Market It’s the final big, BIG week of earnings, with Nvidia (NVDA)and others on deck. Go here to see the companies reporting this week, and their expected percentage moves up or down.  After running up about 40% year to date, even with Tuesday morning’s sell off, Nvidia now has a market cap bigger than some of the biggest companies in the world, including Amazon (AMZN) and Tesla (TSLA)! The stock is sitting right at its eight-day exponential moving average with the company reporting Wednesday after the close — this is one to watch this week! Because it could be make or break, and all is not well in the market right now… We’re seeing a sharp sell-off in tech stocks to start the trading week, the only positive sectors being Consumer Staples XLP, Utilities (XLU) and Communication Services (XLC)… The market gapped down big time on the open, with next to no buyers stepping, which is a big red flag of weakness.  I’m seeing a shift out of Tech (XLK) and Consumer Discretionary (XLY) to more defensive names and Communication Services. But things aren’t all bad right now… The bottom of this morning’s range actually came very close to hitting the bottom of the channel before bouncing. This tells me there’s a chance the market will move higher… But we must see if there are legs!
