TOP NEWS "Trump's army" guilty of seditious conspiracy Eva Marie Uzcategui Trinkl/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images A federal jury found former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and three co-defendants guilty of seditious conspiracy for their role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. The jury found a fifth defendant, Dominic Pezzola, not guilty. [Vox / Nicole Narea] However, Pezzola, along with Tarrio and members Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, and Zachary Rehl were all found guilty of other charges including obstructing an official proceeding and obstruction of law enforcement. It's the most serious charge leveled against January 6 rioters and carries up to 20 years in prison. [Politico / Kyle Cheney] During the months-long trial, prosecutors argued the Proud Boys considered themselves Donald Trump's "army" and were ready to use violence to keep President Joe Biden from assuming office. [Associated Press] The Proud Boys have faced more than 40 January 6 prosecutions, which has slowed the group's activities. However, the group remains active, with its members shifting focus to railing against LGBTQ issues. [USA Today / Will Carless] The coronation of King Charles III Saturday, thousands will gather at London's Westminister Abbey for the coronation of King Charles III, Britain's first in 70 years.
