In the early hours of Thursday, U.S. border agents on patrol found and apprehended five Colombian migrants who had just crossed the river into Texas only to be confronted by a 25-foot-high border wall. One of those caught by the Border Patrol, a 30-year-old Colombian, said he came to the U.S. as "last resort" because he "couldn't live anymore." He said he was extorted and his wife was threatened during his long journey north. On Thursday morning, he became one of the more than 2,000 apprehensions the Rio Grande Valley sector of southeast Texas now averages each day, according to Customs and Border Protection officials. Border agents here are preparing for a massive surge when Title 42 ends on May 11. (read more) |

According to reports, Hunter Biden's top lawyer is generating issues for some White House staff members who are handling the first son's legal cases because of Hunter's decision to hire him. Axios reported on Friday that in December, the president's son recruited top Washington, D.C. lawyer Abbe Lowell to ramp up the severity of his legal approach. The finest small-cap companies to purchase provide something big boys typically can't: a favorable "ratio." However, common sense says that a balanced portfolio should be tilted toward large-capitalization shares. So let me explain. You have to invest a lot of money in large caps to (hopefully) collect a lot of money. These organizations are examples of low-risk, low-reward ventures. In other words, investors receive minimal return possibilities in exchange for the underlying reliability. On the other hand, companies classified as small-cap stocks in 2023 benefit from a favorable ratio to the shopper. Compared to the staid blue chips, their return potential significantly increases for a relatively small upfront payment. Of course, you pay for the upside by accepting greater risk. But if you're okay with this framework, these small-cap growth stocks may be just right for you. (read more) |

A woman is trying to get her car paid for or repaired after it was totaled in her own driveway. According to Sara Dooley, she was sitting in her driveway one night when an Amazon delivery driver pulled up to deliver a package. But when the driver was ready to leave, he made a costly mistake. "He hits the gas thinking he's going to go out — and he rams right back into my car," Dooley said. "It knocked it forward and backward. And the step he uses to get into the truck was actually in my car." As if the accident wasn't enough, Dooley says dealing with Amazon for payment or repairs has been a nightmare. Here's how that process is unfolding, and this is just how damaged Dooley's car is after the accident. (read more) |
