It may look like a sleepy little village, but no one in Zingqolweni is sleeping at night. The village is tucked away in a remote corner of South Africa, and although it boasts a population of only 3,000, they suffer from a homicide nearly once a month, like clockwork across the year. Most of the victims were elderly women living alone. And this trend has earned the village the nickname, "Village of Death." (read more) |

There are no exact figures on how much Amber Heard is worth. While we can estimate how much she has left from her divorce settlement from Johnny Depp and the money she's made from Aquaman and Aquaman 2, the true tally remains a mystery. This is why today a lot of people are asking if she can afford the money she now owes her ex-husband and what, exactly, might happen to her if she doesn't have it. (read more) |

Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, was asked on Wednesday about Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's admission that she was mistaken about inflation. Yellen told CNN what most Americans already knew: the Biden administration's premise that inflation would be transitory was completely false. When confronted with this blatant inconsistency, Jean-Pierre replied by absolving the Biden administration of all blame for continued economic problems such as record-high gas prices and the inflation situation. Americans, unfortunately for the White House, do not believe what Biden is selling. (read more) |

Warren Buffett is investing heavily in the energy industry. Oil and gas prices have risen dramatically in recent months due to a variety of causes. Among these are a spike in demand and a failure to expand supply, the Russian war in Ukraine, which has slowed oil supplies from one of the world's leading oil producers due to NATO sanctions, and supply chain concerns. With fresh investments in HP and Activision, which Microsoft recently purchased, Buffett is growing his interest in the technology business. These businesses were chosen from Berkshire Hathaway's investment portfolio at the end of the first quarter of 2022. When compared to filings for the fourth quarter of 2021, the stocks that are new additions to the portfolio are up-to-date. (read more) |

Los Angeles County California lifeguards are making headlines, and it is for how much some of them are being paid. In a bombshell report, a government watchdog group discovered that some lifeguards are taking home executive-level pay. And while lifeguards are extremely important and even save lives, some are asking why their salaries are so high after salaries have been made public. The report revealed that the highest-paid lifeguard took home just over $510,000 last year. Yes…over a half million. Another lifeguard brought home $463,517, while another made $409,414. Nearly 100 other lifeguards made or surpassed the $200,000 mark. (read more) |

| Sean Thomas McGuinness, 47, has now died following a suspected alligator attack at John S. Taylor Park in Florida, according to the Largo Police Department. Police revealed McGuinness "suffered injuries related to alligators" after he waded in the waters of Taylor Lake. "While the medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death, it was apparent that McGuinness suffered injuries related to alligators in the lake," police said in a statement. They believe McGuinness was attempting to locate Frisbees to sell and would regularly visit the park. McGuinness's body was discovered early Tuesday morning by a person who was walking their dog. Officials say they believe McGuinness entered the lake at night. Two alligators believed to be involved in the attack have now been euthanized. Here's what authorities have revealed about the evidence of their involvement with McGuinness's death. (read more) |
