Hi there. NBI reopens 2020 Barayuga murder case
Game over for Garma? The NBI is reviving the probe into the July 2020 ambush-slay of former PCSO exec Wesley Barayuga, following a police officer's testimony at the House that then PCSO chief Royina Garma masterminded the killing of Barayuga.
Busy agency: On another front, the NBI has filed charges of perjury, falsification of documents, and obstruction of justice against dismissed mayor Alice Guo and her lawyer Elmer Galicia, who notarized Guo's counteraffidavit without the latter's presence.
Sen. Bato Dela Rosa's hardline stance against cooperating with the International Criminal Court involves, for one, ignoring calls supposedly made by the Hague-based agency to his office. It could have been just a prank caller -- a "gago-gago" (idiot), he said.
The sensational Enzo Pastor slay case, where wife Dalia Pastor allegedly conspired to kill her well-known race-car driver husband, is alive again after the Supreme Court overturned an appeals court ruling that dismissed the parricide case against Dalia.
Vietnam condemned what it says was the "brutal behavior of Chinese law enforcement forces" against Vietnamese fishers who were reportedly beaten with iron bars and robbed of their fish and equipment off the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea.
