PH manufacturing extended growth streak in August
The country's manufacturing sector extended its growth streak in August as new orders continue to come in on improving global demand, S&P Global said on Monday. The S&P Global Philippines Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), which measures the country's manufacturing output, stood at 51.2 in August.

SEC offers way for noncompliant firms to restore good standing
Delinquent and noncompliant companies registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) now have a chance to turn their status around by paying significantly lower fees under the agency's newest incentive plan. The SEC said companies that have not filed or were late in filing their general information sheet and financial statements may only pay a P20,000 fee.

Thousands of internet-linked assets used by Filipino banks and other financial service providers are exposed to digital threats, according to cybersecurity firm Tenable, raising the need for stronger digital defenses to ward off hackers. Tenable noted that 2,600 assets—like web servers, internet of things devices and network printers—of local financial players were vulnerable to cyber threats.
