Hi there. Court extends freeze on Quiboloy assets to Feb. 2025

After an initial freeze order of 20 days on the bank accounts, real estate properties, and other assets of fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy and his Kingdom of Jesus Christ sect, the Court of Appeals has extended its freeze order until Feb. 6, 2025.

Could it be Alice Guo's jump-off point in slipping out of PH? Emon Pulo Beach Resort at Silanguin Cove in San Antonio, Zambales is strenuously denying allegations that Guo escaped through their resort, and has threatened a slander case against authorities.

Former senator Leila de Lima is completely free, following a Muntinlupa judge's denial of the government's motion to overturn her acquittal in her third and last drug case, explaining that to do so would "place the accused [in] double jeopardy."

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has terminated its contract with AllCard Inc., the supplier for the government's Philippine Identification System, due to the latter's gross delays in the production and delivery of national ID cards.

With Alice Guo and company's caper of sidestepping airports and boarding boats instead to flee the Philippines, "akyat-barko may prove to be the next best thing for fugitives — but for a handsome fee, of course," columnist Ceres Doyo notes wryly in Opinion.
