On August 21, 2024, Tennessee requested to amend their Medicaid section 1115 demonstration entitled "TennCare III." The proposed amendment would extend TennCare coverage to additional working individuals with disabilities. This extended coverage will be known as the Work Incentives Group. Individuals newly qualifying for TennCare coverage under this amendment will be subject to premiums. The state's objective in this amendment is to remove barriers to employment for individuals with disabilities who, but for their income and resources, would otherwise qualify for coverage under the TennCare demonstration. The federal comment period will be open from August 28, 2024 through September 28, 2024.

Pending Application
