TOP NEWS The debt ceiling faces Republican revolt Saul Loeb/AFP via Getty Images Wednesday, lawmakers are scheduled to vote on a bill to suspend the US debt limit in a significant test of Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's leadership. [Vox / Li Zhou] After weeks of negotiations, President Joe Biden and McCarthy reached a deal in principle to lift the US debt ceiling until 2025 and limit government spending for two years.
