We encourage the public to participate in the development of our research projects. Comments can be submitted for: Diagnosis and Treatment of Tethered Spinal Cord Available for comment until March 6, 2023 The purpose of this review is to synthesize existing evidence on the accuracy of various criteria for diagnosing tethered spinal cord (TSC) and on benefits and harms of various treatment approaches for managing TSC. Diagnosis and Treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in Children and Adolescents Available for comment until March 7, 2023 The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is partnering with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to develop a systematic evidence review on Diagnosis and Treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in Children and Adolescents. The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) plans to use the findings of this systematic evidence review to develop related clinical guidelines. In addition to an updated comprehensive assessment of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for OCD in children and adolescents, there is also a need to review the research on complementary and integrative treatments, including biological/biomedical and naturopathic therapies, and alternative care settings and intensities, such as residential care, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient interventions. Consequently, a review that synthesizes the totality of the current evidence available on the benefits and harms of diagnosis and treatment of OCD in children and adolescents is needed to support the development of a clinical practice guideline and to inform decision-making for healthcare professionals, clinicians, patients, and caregivers. The Effective Health Care (EHC) Program is interested in receiving supplemental evidence and data (SEADs) for systematic reviews that are relevant to the questions in our evidence reports. To ensure that it has full access to relevant research, whether or not it is published, the EHC Program is interested in receiving SEADs containing detailed study-specific information. Opportunities to submit scientific information are available for: Behavioral Interventions for Migraine Prevention (Submission deadline extended until March 20, 2023) The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is collaborating with the American Headache Society (AHS) and Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI) to conduct a systematic evidence review on interventions for behavioral interventions for migraine prevention. The final Research Protocol will be used to guide a systematic review of the evidence by researchers at an Evidence-based Practice Center. The resulting systematic review will form the basis of the AHS clinical practice guidelines on this topic. The intended audience includes guideline developers, health system administrators, and clinicians who provide care to individuals with migraine (e.g., primary care providers, advanced practice practitioners, neurologists, and psychologists). (Section 944 (c) of the Public Health Service Act [42 U.S.C. 299c 3(c)] requires that information collected for research conducted or supported by AHRQ that identifies individuals or establishments be used only for the purpose for which it was supplied unless they consent to the use of the information for another purpose.) Summer Fellowship Opportunity – Apply by March 3, 2023 The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) announces an exciting opportunity to join the AHRQ Summer Fellowship Program. This provides opportunities for individuals to work with leading health services researchers in the conduct and support of research on "real life" issues that support the Agency's mission and contributes to improvements in health care. Fellows are also afforded the opportunity to work with administrative protocols, gain access to AHRQ-sponsored data sets, and apply statistical analysis methods to broaden the Fellow's understanding of health services research and the Agency' effect on the health care system. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the safety and quality of America's health care system. AHRQ develops the knowledge, tools, and data needed to improve the health care system and help Americans, health care professionals, and policymakers make informed health decisions. For information on the AHRQ mission, goals, centers and offices, visit AHRQ.gov. For more information about the positions and to apply, please visit: Junior Staff Service Fellow Announcement. The announcement closing date is 3/3/2023. About us: AHRQ's Effective Health Care Program is committed to providing the best available evidence on the outcomes, benefits and harms, and appropriateness of drugs, devices, and health care services and by helping health care professionals, patients, policymakers, and health care systems make informed health care decisions. The program partners with research centers, academic institutions, health professional societies, consumer organizations, and other stakeholders to conduct research, evidence synthesis, evidence translation, dissemination, and implementation of research findings.
