"Secretary Austin's been very clear that he opposes the repeal of the vaccine mandate and the president actually concurs with the Secretary of Defense." Ending the mandates has some fans over on the other side of the political aisle. Do you think the GOP can help make it disappear for our military? (read more) | |

Tens of thousands of people are the victims of a major power outage in North Carolina after vandals sabotaged two key electrical substations. The blackout happened on Saturday night in Moore County, and a state of emergency was declared on Sunday. Spokesman for Duke Energy, Jeff Brooks, revealed that two electrical substations were severely damaged during attacks and a lot of the necessary equipment will need to be replaced. Brooks estimated that it could take as long as Thursday until power is completely restored…which is not good news considering the freezing temperatures that the state is currently experiencing. Schools in the county have been canceled until further notice and shelter was opened for residents who may be suffering from the outage. Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields stated at a news conference that the perpetrator or perpetrators "knew exactly what they were doing" when they fired off multiple shots at the substations. So, what exactly prompted the vandalism? (read more) |
