One of yesterday's top stories was the fact that the Jan 6th committee voted to subpoena former President Donald Trump. While the jury is still out on what such a subpoena will or won't reveal, sources who claimed he would be "thrilled" to testify must have been wildly mistaken. Because now, we've heard directly from Trump on how he feels about this development. And thrilled doesn't exactly describe it. "The Unselect Committee has willfully ignored the fact that days before January 6, 2021, I recommended and authorized thousands of troops to be deployed to ensure that there was peace, safety, and security at the Capitol and throughout Washington, D.C. on January 6th because I knew, just based on instinct and what I was hearing, that the crowd coming to listen to my speech, and various others, would be a very big one, far bigger than anyone thought possible," Trump wrote. Since former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard announced her departure from the Democratic Party this week, there have been talks about her running for president as an independent in 2024. Though Gabbard has not declared her candidacy, there have been reports that she is favored above other potential candidates. Gabbard is even the third favorite to win the Republican nomination in 2024, according to Betfair, with 10-1 odds. An Arkansas golf club is being sued after a golfer claims they took away a prize promised for someone who made a hole-in-one. The Morrilton Country Club heavily advertised that if a golfer made a hole-in-one on the 10th tee, they would win a Ford F-150 courtesy of a local dealership, Jay Hodge Ford. Maybe the golf club and the dealership thought the hole-in-one would never happen, but it seems like they were both in for a shock when Austin Clagett sunk the difficult shot. Clagett celebrated the win and thought he was going to drive home in his new vehicle. But that's when things turned sour. Twenty-month-old Quinton Simon who went missing from his home a week ago is believed to be dead, according to Georgia authorities. This child was reported missing on October 5. Police have not provided any further details as to why they believe the child is deceased. The child was last seen at the home that he shared with his mother, Leilani Simon, her boyfriend, and her parents. When Simon called to report the disappearance, she said she thought someone took the child out of his playpen. She also texted the babysitter and told her not to come that day. The mother of Leilani Simon, Billie Jo Howell, admitted in an interview that she didn't trust her daughter adding that she had not always done the right thing. The police have named Leilani Simon as a prime suspect relating to the disappearance and potential murder. There's just one problem now that police need to quickly figure out. (read more) |
