NOW A NATIONAL FEAST   Catholic fervor, powered by a predominantly masculine Pinoy grit, comes into full burn in this early stage of Thursday's procession that returns the iconic Jesus Nazareno image from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church in Manila. Hi there. Binays cleared in P1.3B school 'overprice' case

The prosecution having "utterly failed" to prove its case, the Sandiganbayan cleared former VP Jojo Binay, son Junjun Binay Jr., and 16 others of graft relating to the alleged overpriced construction of a school building in Makati.

Inflation may hit LRT fares too, after the private operator of LRT 1 petitioned the DOTr for an increase by April — needed, it said, to recoup maintenance investments and the line extension to Paranaque and eventually to Cavite.

Trump gets trolled: Reacting to the US President-elect's vow to rename the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America," Mexico's president turned the tables on Trump by saying the US should be called "Mexican America." "It sounds nice, doesn't it?"

The Supreme Court should reconsider its ruling allowing commercial fishing companies into municipal waters, says today's editorial, because the case goes "beyond earlier technical lapses" and has "something bigger than legal procedures" at stake.
