Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) back limited federal abortion protections, they voted with their party, arguing Democrats' bill went too far. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) voted with Republicans. [Reuters / Richard Cowan] The failed bill, the Women's Health Protection Act, would've prevented states from restricting abortion access. This year's mass bleaching was notable for occurring during La Niña, which should result in cooler water temperatures.
