Here's what to expect later this week
How's it going? If you're trading AAPL, the number one thing to pay attention to this week is earnings. AAPL is expected to report on Thursday, April 28, after the market closes for the day. So expect big movement potential in after-market trading that evening. If reports are to be believed, most analysts expect strong earnings figures for AAPL this week. And that's really no surprise, considering that the stock and the company have been on a tear. Even in the midst of a global supply chain crisis and other challenges like inflation, the war in Europe, and more, AAPL continues to do what other companies cannot: sell a lot of product and deliver a lot of product. And that has put them in an extremely healthy position relative to not only other companies but even the market as a whole. Just look at AAPL's relative strength in these recent timeframes…
That's a remarkable performance. It's no wonder AAPL remains one of the biggest and most popular stocks right now. With all of that said, a word of warning is appropriate here: Earnings create chaos. Unpredictable chaos. You may think that the earnings report is going to be a slam dunk, and the numbers may even be great, and still, one bit of bad news could be what investors latch onto, and the reason they spark a selloff. The opposite can also happen — sometimes, a company reports terrible results, but launches a new initiative or gives one kernel of good news that becomes the hitching post for a move higher. In either case, it becomes really difficult to trade any stock based on earnings. The better way is to ignore the headlines and stick with a proven system. On Friday, I took some time to go live and share my expectations for AAPL earnings, and why I think the Perfect Apple Trade will be the way to trade it regardless of the result.
If you missed that session, you can catch the replay here. I'd recommend you watch it as soon as possible, and certainly before the earnings report on Thursday night. I think you'll learn a lot! Trade safe,
