Are the kids all right? Chasing Fame
CBS Reports is launching a five-episode documentary series exploring the transformational shifts faced by today's youth. Each episode enters the worlds of the kids themselves to hear in their own words the answer to the question: Are the Kids All Right? The first episode, Chasing Fame, looks at the toll chasing social media fame can take on teens.

Prior to the pandemic, 16-year-old Jiggy Turner from Morgantown, West Virginia, excelled in math and imagined a career in engineering. Now he spends most of his time trying to gain more followers on TikTok and has put aside any plans for college so he can work on building his personal brand full-time.

Layla Ann is a tween from Alabama who loves to make dance videos and has also experienced bullying from a young age. She hopes gaining fame on TikTok will provide a platform to inspire other girls like her to be their best selves — but the road to get there is filled with immense pressures and anxieties on top of the already trying times of adolescence.
