National security officials on Wednesday announced that Iran and Russia have obtained swaths of voter registration information that could support their efforts to interfere in the 2020 presidential election.
Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, FBI Director Christopher Wray and other top national security officials, in an abruptly scheduled press conference, said Iran had already made use of the registration information to attempt to influence voters.
"These actions are desperate attempts by desperate adversaries," Ratcliffe said.
