The benchmark borrowing rate is now in the range of 5.25%–5.5% after the Federal Reserve increased interest rates by 0.25 percentage points. Jerome Powell, the chair of the Federal Reserve, stressed that they would approach rates on a meeting-by-meeting basis and underlined the need for evidence of a sustained decline in inflation during the July press conference. The increase of quick growth stocks is a result of this. The stock market held up well after the rate hike despite economic worries, with the S&P 500 adding 0.24% and the Nasdaq composite gaining 0.3% as of July 26th. Authorities say that a small plane crashed into a California airport hangar as it was taking off Sunday, killing all three people on board. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a single-engine Beechcraft P35 crashed at Cable Airport in Upland at about 6:30 a.m. "Three occupants of aircraft located deceased—units committed to overhaul. Investigators en route," the San Bernardino County Fire Department shared on social media. The National Transportation Safety Board and FAA both announced that they are conducting investigations. Even after being charged in New York and Florida, former president Donald Trump is still leading his closest rival, Ron DeSantis, by 37 points in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Trump was charged with both state and federal offenses by Manhattan's Democratic District Attorney Alvin Bragg and by Special Counsel Jack Smith of the Department of Justice in March and June, respectively. 54% of Republican voters feel they will support Trump in the 2024 presidential primary, despite the indictments against him. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida is Trump's closest rival, and DeSantis has just 17% of the support of GOP voters overall. (read more) |

A rocking horse may not seem too intimidating at first, but one that's for sale in the UK is being labeled as quite the sinister toy. But why are people so scared of the seemingly innocent rocking horse? Well, the original owner of the wooden horse swears it is haunted. And she claims it is so spooky that she had to remove it from her home. So now she's hoping to have it auctioned off. Auction experts say it should fetch a few hundred dollars just because it's vintage, but say it may go for much more if someone decides the supernatural element to it is worth additional money. Thirty-six-year-old Georgia mother of three Lindsay Shiver was arrested in the Bahamas for plotting to kill her estranged husband, former Auburn University football player Robert Shiver. The couple shares three sons together. Terrance Bethel, who was identified as Lindsay Shiver's lover, and Faron Newbold were also arrested in the alleged hit scheme.
