DOT chief keeping 'Love' campaign despite mess


The Department of Tourism (DOT) is not ditching its "Love the Philippines" campaign which got off to a rocky start when the advertising agency behind the P49-million project was abruptly fired after it admitted to using stock footage of other countries for the promotional video.

For safer alternative health-care services


The Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care pushed for the regulation of its sector that includes acupuncturists, chiropractors, Chinese medicine and naturopathy experts and the like. An ongoing profiling showed that just around 1 percent out of nearly 100,000 practitioners were registered. The call was made to protect the public against unscrupulous individuals and ex- orbitant fees.

5.4% inflation rate lowest in 13 months


The inflation rate cooled to a 13-month low in June, easing to 5.4 percent and surprising most economists. Analysts on Wednesday said the rise in the prices of basic commodities was still fast, but they agreed that it should slow down as early as September.
