Latest Dollar Tree violations lead to $98K in penalties Concerned about unsafe work conditions, a Wisconsin Dollar Tree employee contacted OSHA in January. Inspectors found blocked aisles and exits, creating trip and fall hazards. Since 2017, OSHA has cited Dollar Tree Inc. for more than 300 violations at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores. A judge ordered owners to pay 35 workers $140,000 to resolve wage violations. Fireworks fatalities A Florida entertainment company could have prevented a deadly fire and explosion at an Orlando warehouse in December 2022, OSHA found. Iqbal Masih Award Lalitha Natarajan has received the 2023 Iqbal Masih Award for the Elimination of Child Labor for her dedication to end child labor and modern slavery in India. Leading indicators OSHA is seeking input from employers on how to better use leading indicators to proactively prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. Trench fatality avoidable Following a fatal trench collapse in Illinois, OSHA inspectors found the employer failed to install cave-in protection that would have protected workers.
