According to new data from Deloitte, the top corporate finance leaders in North America expect all of the world's regional economies to slow down over the next year.
The global consulting and risk management company released the results of its quarterly CFO Signals survey on Thursday. The survey found that people are less optimistic about 2024 than they were in the first quarter of this year.
All over the world, CFOs' expectations for the coming year went down. This was true for North America, Europe, China, South America, and Asia, except for China. The most negative outlook was for the North American economy in a year, with only 34% of respondents saying they think things will get better. This is down from 54% last quarter.

During a press meeting on Thursday, Florida's Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, said that California's Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, needs to stop "pussyfooting" around the idea of running against President Joe Biden. DeSantis was asked what he thought about Newsom possibly running for president in 2024 and running against the current president, Joe Biden. Newsom said in November 2022 that he would not run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2024, even if Biden did not run. But he has recently avoided answering questions about running because Biden is old. Newsom has attacked the governor of Florida over how DeSantis is trying to stop kids from being sexualized in schools and how he is sending illegal immigrants to places like Martha's Vineyard. At one point, Newsom talked with Texas Sheriff Javier Salazar about the possibility of going to court against DeSantis. (read more) | |

The market is similar to the movie Groundhog Day for many investors. Both bulls and bears find it aggravating that the major indices are still trading in a range. And given that the market is approaching a typically slower time, this situation could last until Labor Day. However, looking for some top blue-chip stocks to buy is a crucial tactic for making money in a market like today. Large-cap corporations with stable revenue and earnings growth are considered blue-chip stocks. The total return you receive from many of these companies is boosted by the fact that many of them pay dividends. Owning blue-chip stocks has certain advantages due to its dependability. These stocks may serve as a solid foundation for managing risk in your portfolio. (read more) |
