Despite losing its sheen, DTC still has a role to play in brand growth, but channel diversification is key. Tennis star Sloane Stephens is the latest athlete to move from Nike to a fast-growing athleisure brand. Stitch Fix founder Katrina Lake said she would return to the CEO role and announced layoffs amid slumping sales. Everlane said it would lay off 17 percent of its corporate employees. Its CEO cited "difficult times for venture-backed companies." A US ban on installing TikTok on government devices may herald changes to come at fashion's favourite app.
