Get it in your inbox every Monday. 🍚 Data from the Department of Agriculture (DA) show that the price of sugar has risen substantially from P46 per kilo in September 2021 to P82 per kilo this year. Meanwhile, the price of rice has remained relatively stable. 🍚 Despite shortage fears, the price of chicken has improved, going down from P185 per kilo in September 2021 to P140 per kilo this year. Last August, the DA lifted the temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat and related products. 🍚 With high oil prices and the continuing depreciation of the peso, the prices of basic goods are still expected to go up.
