Tennessee officials are warning residents not to pick up any folded dollar bills they find lying on the ground. This follows two separate incidents where folded dollar bills were found outside of gas stations with a mysterious powder inside. Once tested, the results came back positive for fentanyl and meth. President Biden's assertion last month that "I reduced the federal deficit" was debunked by fact checkers at CNN, a far-left news organization. Biden reaffirmed his claims of personally cutting the national deficit in a speech last month. The deficit did decrease in the fiscal year 2021, according to CNN's fact-checking piece. They did, however, point out that the drop was significantly smaller than projected. Despite the reduction in the national debt, the reduction would have been greater if the Biden administration had kept the legislation that was set up when Trump was elected. Instead of the $360 billion that the Biden administration saw in 2021, the deficit reduction should have been more than $870 billion. (read more) |

Inflation that refuses to budge will likely be the primary headache for policymakers this year and probably into 2023. According to newly released data, inflation has risen to a 40-year high of 8.6%. Real interest rates will likely remain negative for a long time while the Federal Reserve pursues a contractionary monetary policy. Right now, it's critical to be bullish on gold stocks. In 2023, there is a chance of a recession in the United States. If the likelihood of a recession rises in the coming quarters, the central bank may take a break from raising rates. The precious metal is likely to benefit from this. It's not surprising, then, that gold has held up well in the face of tightened liquidity. The geopolitical risk element also supports gold above $1,800 per ounce. At current levels, there are some appealing gold stocks to buy after a fall from highs. (read more) |

A woman who chose to be a good Samaritan and save a neighbor's dog is now suing the dog's owners for injuries she sustained during the rescue. Ann Samolyk says she saw her neighbor's dog in a canal after she heard someone screaming for help. She claims she suffered neurological and cognitive damage after jumping into the Lacey Township canal on the New Jersey shore to save the dog. The dog ended up being unharmed after the ordeal, but Samolyk sued its owners because she claims they knowingly let the dog be put in a perilous situation. She further alleges that negligence on the part of the owners led to a dangerous rescue situation that could injure any person attempting to help. Authorities were called to the San Lorenzo library in San Francisco over the weekend after five men from the far-right Proud Boys group stormed in during "Drag Queen Story Hour'' and began shouting slurs. The event was held for preschool aged children. The sheriff's office stated, "The men were described as members of the Proud Boys organization, known to be a right wing hate group with anti-LGBTQ affiliations. The men were described as extremely aggressive with a threatening violent demeanor causing people to fear for their safety." A number of children and their parents were at the event when the incident occurred. The sheriff's office revealed that deputies were able to de-escalate the situation and that no one was physically harmed. The sheriff's office has since made this statement regarding the incident along with how they plan to prevent this from happening again in the future. (read more) |
