Help End Race-Based Hair Discrimination In The U.S.

Discrimination against Black natural hair is real. In the U.S., the law in many states does not protect against race-based hair prejudice, even if your hair texture or hairstyle is inherent to your racial identity. That means Black people can be denied employment and educational opportunities or professional advancement without consequence.
That's why Dove cofounded the CROWN Coalition to advance the CROWN Act, a law that prohibits the denial of employment and educational opportunities due to hair texture or protective hairstyles like braids, locs, twists, and bantu knots. While CROWN Act legislation has been adopted in 17 states including New York, California, Washington, and Maryland, we've still got a long way to go in creating a more equitable and inclusive beauty experience for the Black community across the nation.

Join Dove and Refinery29 in helping to #PassTheCROWN in all U.S. states. Sign the petition here to help end race-based hair discrimination.
