Commercial tobacco use continues to be the leading preventable cause of disease and death in the United States. Tobacco companies have been using marketing strategies to target populations that experience greater health inequities, contributing to the persistent disparities in commercial tobacco use in the country.

In this seminar, titled "The Perfect Storm: Intersections of Social Determinants of Health, Commercial Determinants of Health, and Commercial Tobacco Use Disparities," Kelvin Choi, Ph.D., MPH, will discuss the interrelationships between social determinants of health and commercial tobacco use, the role of commercial determinants of health on commercial tobacco use disparities, and interventions to reduce commercial tobacco use and related health disparities.
