Here's What You Need To Know... Search at Grand Canyon for missing man turns up human remains that crews "weren't expecting" Crews have been looking for Gabor Berczi-Tomscanyi, a Hungarian national who lived in Hong Kong. He was reported missing to police in Las Vegas in late July while traveling in the U.S. Southwest. The car he was driving was located in a Grand Canyon parking lot in mid-August and his body was found a few days later — about 430 feet below the canyon's rim at Yavapai Point.
But in the midst of searching for Berczi-Tomscanyi, they also found someone else. Scott Walsh, who was last seen stepping off a shuttle bus at the park's South Rim in 2015, is believed to be the former owner of the body found during an aerial search for Berczi-Tomscanyi.
Walsh's body was positioned in such a way as to be almost undetectable and his clothing blended in with his surroundings. Although unintentional finds don't happen very often, they still occur more than you might think — especially when you take into account how many people are still listed as missing from the Grand Canyon. Even more concerning, how many people like Walsh — who was never even reported missing — just slipped through the cracks?
Disney lovers rejoice... You can now stay in Winnie-the-Pooh's "Bearbnb" cottage in England's Ashdown Forest It's been 95 years since A.A. Milne published the first-ever Winnie-the-Pooh book, called Teddy Bear and the Other Songs from When We Were Very Young. To celebrate the milestone, Disney is launching plushies of the beloved bear, but, even more exciting… guests can now book a stay in the "Bearbnb" cottage, nestled away in the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, England. The beautiful little suite is the culmination of a collaboration between Disney, Airbnb, and artist Kim Raymond.
Raymond took inspiration from the original books and from illustrator E.H. Shepard, and she designed a cottage fit for Winnie-the-Pooh, complete with "Hunny" pots in the cupboards. Guests will get their own guided tours of the Hundred Acre Wood, and are encouraged to spend some quiet time outside. The room includes yoga mats and journals, to help them "live more like Pooh, who is famous for going at his own pace."
Up to four people can stay in the room at once, but "no heffalumps" are allowed in at any point in time, the listing says.
The Global Head of Hosting is excited about the new offering: "Winnie the Pooh is a childhood jewel beloved by families the world over. This year, the original books celebrate their 95th anniversary. What better way to commemorate A.A. Milne's classic work then with these two once-in-a-lifetime stays in the original Hundred Acre Wood. A perfect place to do nothing. As Pooh said, 'Doing nothing often leads to something.'"
Police announce arrest of suspect nine years after the murder of Faith Hedgepeth Faith Hedgepeth was supposed to be the first person in her family to ever graduate from college. Instead, she was brutally murdered in her own apartment. Her body was found September 7, 2012 — and her family did not receive anything close to closure or justice until nine years and nine days later.
A friend and her roommate discovered Hedgepeth, 19, covered in blood on the floor of her bedroom. There was a hastily scrawled note near her body, apparently written by the killer. She had been bludgeoned to death by an empty bottle of rum after being raped. Although the act was heinous, it did result in something important to finding justice for Hedgepeth: the semen of her killer. A DNA profile was taken from the sample and will be an important piece of evidence in the upcoming trial.
Miguel Enrique Salguero-Olivares, 28, has been arrested as a suspect in Hedgepeth's murder. Authorities did not comment on whether he would be charged with a sex crime in addition to the first-degree murder charge. His DNA matches the sample taken from Hedgepeth's body and he bears resemblance to the 2016 composite sketch made of the suspect.
The issue that police faced these past nine years had to do with the relationships Hedgepeth may have had with different men. Without a solid lead to go on — a boyfriend, friend, or fling who might have written the note or been angry enough to commit such atrocities — investigators were stumped when it came to pinning down a suspect with whom to compare DNA.
