Awards for the Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment (SUPPORT) for Patients and Communities Act Section 1003 Demonstration Project to Increase Substance Use Provider Capacity under the Medicaid Program

Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the selection of five states for an award for the 36-month post-planning period of the Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment (SUPPORT) for Patients and Communities Act Section 1003 Demonstration Project. The purpose of this project is to Increase Substance Use Provider Capacity under the Medicaid Program. 

 

CMS selected Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Nevada, and West Virginia for these awards, which will enable them to be eligible to receive 80% in federal matching funds for any SUD expenditures that are in excess of their 2018 SUD expenditure levels.
