While in Boise, Biden used the wildfires to promote his infrastructure plan, which includes measures meant to limit climate change, such as funding for a clean energy standard and electrification. The president also hopes to use his political sway to push Newsom to victory in Tuesday's recall election. Republicans began a campaign to recall Newsom in the spring over perceived failures in handling the coronavirus pandemic.
