Hey y'all, Here are 10 things I thought were worth sharing this week: -
The audiobook of the Steal Like An Artist trilogy is out now wherever you get audiobooks, including Audible, Libro.fm, Google Play, and Apple Books. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, especially considering it was recorded in my bedroom closet during a pandemic! - Mason Currey, author of Daily Rituals, interviewed me for his newsletter about my COVID routine.
- Dan Sinker's beautiful essay about birds, parenting, and being stuck inside.
- "There's no such thing as a mistake. A mistake is only an opportunity to do something else." Ralph Steadman: A Life in Ink is a gorgeous retrospective of the artist's work. (I love this video of him working in his studio.)
- Meet Shameika Stepney, inspiration to Fiona Apple on Fetch the Bolt Cutters, my favorite album of the year.
- Ear candy: the Dirty Projectors' 5 EPs is hitting the spot.
- Literary tales of Hollywood: Alan Rickman's diaries and Tom Stoppard's Indiana Jones script.
- TV: my wife and I have been enjoying Ghosts, a BBC comedy about a couple who inherit a country house filled with former residents.
- RIP writer Jan Morris.
- May your thanksgiving be perpetual.
Thanks for reading. This newsletter is free, but not cheap. To show your support, forward it to someone who'd like it, buy a book, buy some of my favorite gear (I get a cut), or buy a t-shirt. If you're seeing this newsletter for the first time, you can read previous issues and subscribe here. xoxo, Austin PS. Did I mention the audiobook is really good? I think you'll like it. | | | |
