CMS Releases State Medicaid Director Letter on Protecting Beneficiaries from Impermissible Sanctions and Penalties

Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a State Medicaid Director Letter (SMDL) that provides guidance to state Medicaid agencies on how to protect Medicaid beneficiaries from impermissible sanctions and penalties related to Medicaid beneficiary eligibility-related fraud and abuse.
