Hey E,
As you know, highlighting the amazing members of our community is a huge focus for me. I hope that you enjoyed reading Michael DeGraeve's story, in his own words, and are now following him @Gravy316_actual. Today, I'd like to introduce you to Nate Harpster.
Alright Y'all I've been a firefighter in Arizona for 19 years and about 10 years ago really decided to turn my health around focusing on better nutrition, sleep and fitness. Why? I saw myself going down a path that paralleled what ultimately caused the untimely passing of my father from esophageal cancer at 60 years old. That path was a lack of proper eating habits (following that S.A.D. diet - Standard American Diet), not prioritizing sleep and definitely not making fitness a priority.
While I was "working out" sometimes, it wasn't with discipline or purpose and that needed to change! I want/wanted to be around to enjoy my kids growing up, see and play with my grandchildren, enjoy the golden years with my wife having adventures not being stagnant and sedentary. That all meant I needed to get out of my career as a firefighter healthy as well as work towards being better physically while on the job.
That is what drew me to Brute Force. I knew I needed to have the ability to engage in fitness anywhere and with minimal equipment and that's what Brute Force is all about!
My first Brute Force sandbag changed how, when and where I was able to get my PT in and I haven't looked back ever since. Yes, I have a full home gym now but believe me my Brute Force bags ( yes plural ) and weighted vest are a staple in my routine.
I also travel with my bag on extended trips back east to my hometown! Yep. I empty that bad boy out, stuff it in my luggage, or use it as a carry on, then fill it up once I get there and I'm good to go!
I also truly believe that Brute Force bags should be a mandatory piece of equipment, not just at home, but also in fire stations across the country. Their versatility in being able to simulate fireground movement makes it a perfect addition to any in station fitness regime!
Thank you BF for making it easy to dump the excuses and get the work done, when you have that bag staring you in the eyes, the "I don't have time" and "I don't know what to dos" start melting away.
Just pick up that bag and get grinding!
