The Office of the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms says the mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, her sister and two brothers were not at the addresses they gave. Sen. Risa Hontiveros, who is leading the investigation of alleged criminal activities of offshore gaming companies, is urging Alice Guo and her family members to turn themselves in and cooperate with the inquiry.

PH, US to finalize 2 pacts this month


The Philippines and the United States will hold in Manila, possibly within the month, another 2+2 foreign and defense ministers' meeting to finalize previous agreements, including infrastructure commitments at the nine sites under the bilateral Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca).

Drug war's 'new face'


The President's Sona eight days from now is the best opportunity to unveil this 'new face' of the anti-drug campaign by providing more details on how the government intends to make it starkly different from the controversial 'tokhang' operations of the past. Whether it is indeed a more humanized and just solution will depend on the implementation and remains to be seen.
