Hey E, As we approach the final week of our April Strength Surge campaign, it's time to get acquainted with an innovative technique that can elevate your training to new heights – Tempo Work. Tempo Work is all about slowing down the eccentric (or lowering) phase of your exercises. This technique has been shown to increase strength and power, and reduce the risk of injury. It places a higher demand on your muscles, allowing you to get more out of each rep. Here's how you do it: - Start by controlling your movements and focusing on muscle engagement. For example, in a deadlift, take 4 seconds to lower the weight, a 3-second hold at the bottom, a 2-second lift, and a 1-second pause at the top. That's a 4-3-2-1 tempo.
- This technique can be applied to various exercises such as deadlifts, push-ups, overhead presses, and pull-ups, all available in the Brute Force Training app.
- Implementing Tempo Work into your routine will introduce a new level of intensity and discipline to your workouts, helping to further your strength and endurance gains.
This is a LOT easier to SHOW you than tell you. I'll show you in the Brute Force Training App… available on iPhone and Android here. Hopefully you join us on the upcoming Murph and Carry the Load challenge events we'll be doing next month!
