News on Research Funding and Upcoming Meetings

There's a lot of news to share this week about research funding from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) and about upcoming scientific meetings that you can attend virtually.

Research Funding

  • Changes to NIH Applications and Peer Review: Multiple changes are coming in early 2025 that will affect the submission and review of NIH grant applications. The changes will affect most research project grants, fellowships, and training grants. Get the details here.
  • Reissue of the Funding Opportunity for Feasibility Trials of the NIH Music-Based Interventions Toolkit: The notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for proof-of-concept feasibility trials of the NIH Music-Based Interventions Toolkit for research on brain disorders of aging has been reissued as PAR-24-168. The new due dates for applications are June 20 and October 21, 2024. The previous NOFO, PAR-23-256, was terminated early to correct responsiveness and review criteria. A summary of the technical assistance webinar for that NOFO is available on our website.
  • New Funding Opportunity for REACH Virtual Resource Centers: NCCIH intends to publish a U24 funding opportunity to solicit applications for REsearch Across Complementary and Integrative Health Institutions (REACH) Virtual Resource Centers. These Centers will foster institutional partnerships and provide resources to support research activities and research training for faculty at partnering complementary and integrative health clinical institutions, such as schools of acupuncture, chiropractic, osteopathy, naturopathy, physical therapy, and music and art therapy. Find out more from this notice: NOT-AT-24-037.
