These are the two levels to watch in the S&P 500 (SPY) to start the week.  We will either congest in this range or start working toward taking out Friday’s high. Until we do, consider that high to be strong resistance in the near term.  I discussed the next Consumer Price Index data coming at 8:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday in my morning video. The SPY is trying to fight off the bears and Consumer Discretionary is now leading ahead.  That’s a good sign heading into the CPI number, which of course measures inflation.  Small caps (IWM) were also outperforming large caps by a big margin Monday morning, which tells us the market may be gaining strength.
