OECD cuts PH 2023 growth forecast to 5.6%


The Philippine economy may grow in 2023 at a slightly slower pace than earlier forecast, now 5.6 percent from the 5.7 percent expected in March, as high interest rates may ease pent-up demand for goods and services, according to the OECD Development Center.

Several reputable business organizations in the country had recently aired their views on some important issues of the day. And rightly so. When Ombudsman Samuel Martires ordered the dismissal of the top executives of the Manila International Airport Authority for illegal reassignment of employees, the Makati Business Club, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc., Employers Confederation of the Philippines and other business groups called on him to reverse his decision.
