Retirement used to be supported by three different sources: personal savings, Social Security income, and pension checks. But according to Joe Buhrmann, a senior financial planning expert, those supports are less stable. For most Americans, pensions are a thing of the past, Social Security appears less reliable, and personal savings now make up the majority of retirement income. Following Fitch's downgrading of US long-term credit, US markets opened lower on Wednesday. The Dow dropped 155 points, or 0.4%, in value. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.1% and the S&P 500 declined 0.8%. Meanwhile, Treasury yields were largely stable. The value of the US currency barely changed as well. Analysts are unsure whether the move will cause markets to fall significantly, despite the fact that it represents a blow to the US. On Wednesday morning, traders kept up their analysis of numerous second-quarter earnings releases. Late on Tuesday, Fitch Ratings downgraded US long-term debt from AAA to AA+, primarily due to this spring's debt ceiling dispute. (read more) |

Musk is realizing the gravity of what he's unleashed upon the world. | Elon Musk, the man who never stops pushing boundaries just did something astonishing… He just unleashed this new project… One that an ex-google engineer says is more powerful than the atomic bomb… And now... he's having his own "Oppenheimer moment"... Because, just like J. Robert Oppenheimer when he created the atomic bomb… …Musk is realizing the gravity of what he's unleashed upon the world. Yes, a lot of people will get rich from this new project… But I believe those who don’t prepare could soon be trapped in an economic death spiral. I believe they’ll fall behind and might never be able to catch up. Goldman Sachs economists are already warning that 300 million jobs could simply disappear. One industry insider even warned that "Nobody is safe." Millions of Americans will end up on the losing side of this paradigm shift… But you do NOT have to be one of them. | | | | |

When responding to Special Counsel Jack Smith's indictment of former President Trump on Tuesday, former Vice President Mike Pence did not mince words. Pence accused Trump of putting himself above the Constitution in a statement issued after Trump was indicted on charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol and efforts to rig the 2020 presidential election. He also claimed that a Trump candidacy would serve as a diversion from President Biden's "disastrous" record. According to Vice President Pence, the Constitution and the country are "more important than any one man's career." Four criminal charges, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy to obstruct an official investigation, were brought against Trump as a result of the investigation. A woman from New Zealand has finally identified who inexplicably erected a 6-foot pole in her driveway. When Sophie Hucker, a teacher, got home from work, she saw a large pole erected there. At first, the teacher thought the pole was something her neighbors had ordered and went to move it over to their house. Unfortunately, moving it proved to be impossible due to being cemented in place. As expected, people on social media have been very amused by the situation. After a week of pole-related jokes, Sophie revealed the mystery had been solved. (read more) |
