Democrat state representative Jeremy LaCombe of Louisiana has announced his intention to switch to the Republican Party. In less than a month, he is the third Democrat to do so. The Advocate, a newspaper based in Louisiana, reported on Monday that state representative Jeremy LaCombe had announced he was switching his party registration from Democrats to Republicans. There was no immediate word on what motivated LaCombe's switch, but he is the third state legislator in the United States and the second in Louisiana to do so in less than a month. Tristan Cotham, a state senator in North Carolina, joined the Republican Party only a week ago. Some members of the Democratic Party are likely leaving the party because it has become too radical. The 87-year-old Dalai Lama apologized on Monday after video footage circulated of him asking a young boy to "suck my tongue" at a public event. In the video, which now has over 1 million views on Twitter, the young boy had asked the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug. The Dalai Lama proceeded to give him a peck on the lips in front of a crowd who could be heard clapping and laughing. This is the statement that has since been released regarding the incident.
